I completed my toile and managed to get someone to model it for me. There needs to be a few alterations to the dress. I will keep the basic concept, but a few alterations will be made. Firstly the dress needs to be longer and also the draped dress piece is also meant to be longer.

Thanks and see you soon as I have extra sketchbook work to do.

As you may notice I have alot of panels within the design of my dress therefore I mapped out the structure of the dress on the mannequin, pinned Calico to the mannequin so that I could draw out my pattern pieces and the notched and made notes on the fabric. For now I work better making notes all over everything!

I used the mannequin to size my garment instead of using bodice blocks because this garment is meant to be very fitted and figure hugging to the person.

Current Fashion V sport project

Hi everyone, I hope all is well.

To begin with I would just like to say that I absolutely enjoyed this project although with every project I tend to have ups and downs but I have definetly tried to turn it around this time. It has been a great challenge for me in the sense that it is my first time trying to construct and make a dress properly. ...lol... Im actually laughing because last week I made my dress which was almost complete and on friday I unpicked it and started all over again. This time around my dress has changed in so many ways. Im dissappointed with myself as I did not remember to take a picturer of it but hopefully this onw is better. I have made gloves to go with the outfit too. I am going to post a couple of photos illustrating the first stages of making my garment.

Project Info

Hi everyone, this is just a quick message to let you know that im still alive and kicking...I know it has been a while as I am Miss busy bee at the moment. I am currently working on my Fashion V Sport Project which I am enjoying very much. My aim is to design a garment that is inspired by sport and the finished product must have a beautiful print on it which will be very much inspired by the works of the painter Bridget Riley.
Bridget Riley has been well known from the 1960s Op art movent and her images produce intense sensations of movement and colour that capture the viewer in the experience of viewing.
I may be featuring some of my work form this project soon, so keep your eyes peeled. Thanks...see ya'll!
